Cecil’s birthmarks changes shape and movement with his emotions - they flare up when he’s flustered or angry, hide under clothing when he’s scared or embarrassed, move rapidly when he’s excited, softer shapes for good feelings and rougher shapes for bad ones etc.
He’s kinda self-conscious about them since it’s like wearing your heart on your sleeve, but Carlos thinks they’re pretty (and also scientifically fascinating).
This is so perfect, for the time you look at this image, you don’t know if it’s a boy and girl, a girl and a girl, a boy and a boy, a black man and a white girl, a white man and an asian girl, you know nothing. Just the simplicity of the connection and the beauty of two human beings sharing love and that is all that should ever matter.
Actually, Due to the slight prognathism of the maxilla, the smaller more rounded cranial vault. The sharper and less defined lower mandible, and less protruding supraobital ridges, the conclusion can be reached that the individual on the left is female, and of African American decent. However the individual on the right shows a larger more oblong cranium, heaver more protruding supraobital ridges, a flatter maxilla with less prognathism. Also the lower mandible of this individual is heaver, more defined and square. From the presence of these features the conclusion can be reached that the individual on the right is male of Caucasian decent. Also due to the advanced (but not complete) obliteration of the cranial sutures, and the presence of a third molar in each individuals, it can also be said that both of these individuals are between the ages of 25 and 40.
ASMR – 4 letters that stand for:
“Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response”
Even though many people experience ASMR only a very few actually know about the term and the definition:
It is best explained as a unique and pleasurable“tingling sensation” which can be felt in the head, scalp, back or other regions of the body when exposed to visual, auditory or cognitive stimuli.
If you are completly new to ASMR, I will give you real life example of the exact opposite sensation in order to clarify this phenomenal:
Remember, when your teacher in school used to scratch on the board? Most people do and they still get goose bumps just thinking about it. That’s quite fascinating – A certain sound makes you feel a certain way: Negative or Positive – Even after years.
Now imagine you are beeing exposed to a positive sound for example:
Calm music or the sound of rain.
I’m sure most people would feel either relaxed or happy. A similar but yet different effect happens with ASMR:
ASMR, often referred to as “Tingles” helps you to feel positive, relaxed, calm and maybe even sleepy.
This state of mind obviously has a lot of advantages:
- You will feel relaxed after a stressful day at work
- You will be able to drift off to sleep even if you suffer from insomnia
- Your anxiety levels will decrease over time
and the best:
It is not harmful and doesn’t cost a thing :)
Help us spread awareness for asmr, so that more people can experience it themself.
There are also helpful guides for ASMR Massages, which can be a great start for ASMR “Beginners” or people that want to intensify their tingles: asmr-massage.com
Im the worst at jumping. Took me forever to get this to look somewhat ok while Maria just nailed pretty much every single shot dfkjdsf
I bought my friend an elephant for their room.
They said “Thank you.”
I said “Don’t mention it.”
Is there a joke here that 15 thousand people get but I don’t?
I DONT GET IT SOMEONE EXPLAIN OR I WILL KILL
Disclaimer: This is not my own idea; I got the tip from the lovely Elentari-liv, who was kind enough to share her technique with me. This is only showing the basics I’ve used to knit the scales, not how to make any certain piece.
Also, keep in mind that I’m still a beginner at knitting. I’ve been doing it for approximately two weeks.
What you’ll need:
- circular knitting needles
- small scales
You’ll probably want to choose a yarn close to your scale colour, or one that complements it (I used a contrasting one here to make things easier to show). You may have to experiment a bit with the yarn gauge and size of the needles. I ended up using gauge three yarn and size six needles after some testing. Larger needles widened the gap between scales, so that the yarn was visible in between, which I didn’t want, and thicker yarn made the scales stick out too much as opposed to hanging. It looked like I was knitting a very ruffled dragon.
Scales can be purchased from The Ring Lord, with multiple choices of colour and material. I’ve experimented with both aluminum and steel; the steel seems to hang better because of its weight, but it all depends on what you need for your project!
(I’m putting the actual process under a read more because I do have a lot of photos.)
I’m gonna go ahead and put this under the resources tag for reenactors, cosplayers, Rennies and SCA-ers!
And here we see a majestic wild mop without a handle frolicking on a beach…
